Schwarzenegger Portman Hogan "Japanese Ad" Cool!

With Internet these days, what else can one celebrity hide? I think Internet is more a disaster to the celeb community than being a good stuff. Now all the things they do in public, a common person can just publish these acts automatically in Youtube. Their commercial/advertising campaigns where they thought would never be shown in their homeland are accessible also in Youtube. On the contrary, most of them actually real good publicity through theInternet if they are smart enough to take that path. It's just a matter of choice: are they using technology at their advantage or are they making it an enemy? Smarter omes got the better choice! Below are some of the TV commercials/advertisements by hollywood celebs done in Japan. I can say that Japanese arealways unique. See these!

And here is the rest of it.

Design Your Blog to Suit Your Personality and/or Theme

I was so thankful, and I still am, when the Blogger Template Designer came and it was so dynamic! I love playing with this blog's look (and also my other blogs) and a lot of things. Blogger Template Designer made my life easier in adjusting my blog to what Ilike and what I find cool at a certain period, when I have to edit/redesign it. Below is the tip from blogger, a bit of tutorial and instructions on how to customize Bloggers blogs.
Blogger Template Designer is a new way for us bloggers to easily customize the look of our respective blogs. We can now select a variety of templates, images, colors, and column layouts to make our blogs an expression of us or of our niche/theme. To get to the Template Designer, go to Design | Template Designer.
To access the Template Designer in the upgraded interface, just click on the drop-down menu of the gray Post List icon, and select Template. From there, you'll be able to choose and customize your template. As you play around with the Template Designer, you’ll see a preview of how the blog will appear based on the choices you’ve made, which you can expand to by pressing the toggle to Expand Preview between the Blogger Template Designer dashboard and the preview. When you’re satisfied with the look of your blog, you can make them go live by pressing Apply to Blog in the top right hand corner of the Template Designer..

To get started with Blogger Template Designer, select a template for your blog from one of the professionally designed templates that are available. Each template appears as a large thumbnail that when clicked will show different variations on the template below that you can select by clicking on them. Note that clicking a new template will erase any customizations you’ve made on a previous template. Once you’ve chosen a template, you can continue customizing the look of your blog.

No matter what template you are previewing in Template Designer, you can always see what is currently live on your blog by looking at the Live on Blog thumbnail in the Template Designer control panel. You can also click on it to reset the template in the Template Designer to the live version of your blog.
Background
Even though you’ve chosen a template, you can still change the way that it looks. Using Blogger Template Designer, you can choose the background color or image for your blog and then play with the color scheme. To start customizing your background, click on the thumbnail under Background Image.
One of the best new features of Template Designer is the ability to change the color of your background image. This is possible when a background image has transparency. You can tell that a background image is transparent because it has a checkerboard in the top right hand corner of the image.
Once you’ve selected your image, you can change the color of the background by clicking on Main Color Theme and then selecting the color of your choice.

You can only change the color of your background if the background is transparent. Also, if the template that you chose has a grey background, you cannot change its color.
In addition to selecting and personalizing your blog’s background image, you can also choose a color theme to apply to aspects of your blog, including text and links. You can do this by playing with the Main Color Theme or by choosing one of our Suggested Themes. Changing the color theme of your blog will change the colors for all aspects of the blog template that can be changed.
Note: If background image is not transparent, themes will alter the text color scheme of the blog
Note: For information on uploading your own custom background image, please see our article on Adding custom CSS to your blog.
Layout
You can choose a variety of layout options for your blog, from one to three columns. These layouts feature drag and drop functionality for gadgets. You will also have a variety of layout options for the blog footer as well.

If you want to add or remove gadgets or edit gadget settings, you cannot do this through Blogger Template Designer. Rather, you have to do this on the general Layout tab.
Adjust Width
You can change the width of the blog, and the right and left columns by dragging the slider for the different parts of blog layout. Note that the options you see here correspond to the type of layout that you chose. If, for example, you chose a blog with left and right columns, you will see both left and right column sliders. If, however, you chose a blog with only a left column, you will only see that option here.

Organic Visits Thanks Google and Other Search Engines

Despite long absences and not-so-often-blog updates, I am glad of this blog's traffic ranking. From time to time, there are some five posts that maintain this blog's traffic strength that I am very glad about. Whether I promote the traffic or not, there are always people visiting here, fresh people, who happen to search the post from Google or any other search engines! For this I am thankful to Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines for that!.

I may not have so many posts monthly, or I may not promote this blog and it's traffic, I am so glad Google search engine and others have indexed this blog to appear in searches, and indeed, the click rate is more than what I can be thankful for.

This is my stat bar from Alexa, from the right, I can really see what people search and they arrive in my blog!
I also found out that my blog's older views are all cached and I can go back on certain dates and see how my blog looked like! Just like the image below, this was like 3 years ago! Time flies!

Steve Jobs's Death: Do You Think the World Lost a Genius?

With the death of Steve Jobs, do you think the world lost a genius? I cannot say as theonly Apple I ever own was the iPod Shuffle that was in 2003 if I remember good. After that, nothing. I know there are so many Apple loyalist as they say it's of highest quality and very fast. We discussed in my Italian course last week and all are in favor of Apple products but everyone also admits its non-so-affordability!

What do you think about Apple products? It's expensive but it's cool?

Einstein Not a Genius After All?

I read an article from Reuters today that the theory of relativity has been disproved. That is really like a big Wow! A few years back we just honored Albert Einstein as the man of the century for his genius idea and yet... hmmmm... we'll see, maybe someone can still dsprove the theory that disproved Einstein's theory...who knows? But below is a quoted article from Reuters.

Particles found to break speed of light

By Robert Evans

GENEVA | Thu Sep 22, 2011 3:26pm EDT
(Reuters) - An international team of scientists said on Thursday they had recorded sub-atomic particles traveling faster than light -- a finding that could overturn one of Einstein's long-accepted fundamental laws of the universe.

Antonio Ereditato, spokesman for the researchers, told Reuters that measurements taken over three years showed neutrinos pumped from CERN near Geneva to Gran Sasso in Italy had arrived 60 nanoseconds quicker than light would have done.

"We have high confidence in our results. We have checked and rechecked for anything that could have distorted our measurements but we found nothing," he said. "We now want colleagues to check them independently."

If confirmed, the discovery would undermine Albert Einstein's 1905 theory of special relativity, which says that the speed of light is a "cosmic constant" and that nothing in the universe can travel faster.

That assertion, which has withstood over a century of testing, is one of the key elements of the so-called Standard Model of physics, which attempts to describe the way the universe and everything in it works.

The totally unexpected finding emerged from research by a physicists working on an experiment dubbed OPERA run jointly by the CERN particle research center near Geneva and the Gran Sasso Laboratory in central Italy.

A total of 15,000 beams of neutrinos -- tiny particles that pervade the cosmos -- were fired over a period of 3 years from CERN toward Gran Sasso 730 (500 miles) km away, where they were picked up by giant detectors.

Light would have covered the distance in around 2.4 thousandths of a second, but the neutrinos took 60 nanoseconds -- or 60 billionths of a second -- less than light beams would have taken.

"It is a tiny difference," said Ereditato, who also works at Berne University in Switzerland, "but conceptually it is incredibly important. The finding is so startling that, for the moment, everybody should be very prudent."

Ereditato declined to speculate on what it might mean if other physicists, who will be officially informed of the discovery at a meeting in CERN on Friday, found that OPERA's measurements were correct.

"I just don't want to think of the implications," he told Reuters. "We are scientists and work with what we know."

Much science-fiction literature is based on the idea that, if the light-speed barrier can be overcome, time travel might theoretically become possible.

The existence of the neutrino, an elementary sub-atomic particle with a tiny amount of mass created in radioactive decay or in nuclear reactions such as those in the Sun, was first confirmed in 1934, but it still mystifies researchers.

It can pass through most matter undetected, even over long distances, and without being affected. Millions pass through the human body every day, scientists say.

To reach Gran Sasso, the neutrinos pushed out from a special installation at CERN -- also home to the Large Hadron Collider probing the origins of the universe -- have to pass through water, air and rock.

The underground Italian laboratory, some 120 km (75 miles) to the south of Rome, is the largest of its type in the world for particle physics and cosmic research.

Around 750 scientists from 22 different countries work there, attracted by the possibility of staging experiments in its three massive halls, protected from cosmic rays by some 1,400 metres (4,200 feet) of rock overhead.

Google Adsense Site Disabled BUT They Are So Reasonable When Doing This to Publishers' Accounts... Good Job!

Lately, I got two sites where Google Adsense banned from displaying their ads. For me, it was an eye-opener but no hurt feelings! Why? My account is still active, andonly the involved sites were banned. Forme? Fair enough! Indeed this would be thebest policy I think, fair to both Google Adsense and o its publishers at the same time. I know Adsense is very strict with their rules but sometimes, publishers are not really in fault when one oftheir accounts are endangered by someone else. Thus, disabling ad publishing for a site would not really hurt. It is highly disappointing when one discovers her/his adsense account being disabled. Yes, having a site get disabled from publishing Adsense ads is also disappointing but still, it leaves a lot of hope if the account is still intact.

Why my sites were diabled? In the email sent to me, I was informed I published videos that were copyrighted. Well, so be it, at least those were my monor sites and not that heavy in terms of damage. I am really crossing my fingers as I ablut to get my third Google Adsense payout, after my Google Adsense earnings here

Take care of your Adsense Account, it is not simple to be accepted in the system anymore as it used to be.

The Plan to Attack, Eliminate or Hack Facebook by the Hacker Group Called Anonymous

anonymous hacker group logo, anonymous logoWill it happen? Will the group "Anonymous" successfully destroy facebook? Will this hacker group succeed? What's your opinion on this threat to facebook? Do you have an account in facebook too? As the video says,"Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed..." "Everything you do on Facebook stays on Facebook regardless of your privacy settings, and deleting your account is impossible," the speaker says. "Even if you delete your account, all your information stays on Facebook and can be recovered at any time." Indeed that's unfair but I know that many love facebook.. Which side are you? Facebook or "Anonymous"?

,
And me? Which side am I? I think both sides have reason. If people are responsible enough, they would not share unnecessary and/or confidential information in social networks, say, facebook, The burden of the responsibility lies in the members themselves. However, we must admit that some rules or disclaimers or announcements are too small or too vague to be noticed. Indeed it's unfair to have your info or image b used without you having even a slight knowledge it's happening! So if facebook will be gone, for sure there will be Google + soon!... Or something similar. That's how life goes, you cannot please everybody, same goes to facebook.
Anonymous (used as a mass noun) is a group initiating active civil disobedience and spread through the Internet while staying hidden, originating in 2003 on the imageboard 4chan, representing the concept of many online community users simultaneously existing as an anarchic, digitized global brain. It is also generally considered to be a blanket term for members of certain Internet subcultures, a way to refer to the actions of people in an environment where their actual identities are not known. ... that's according to wikipedia.

Moving From Blogging: Creating Websites with Expression Web as a Tool Learning

Last weekend, I was watching tutorials on how to create a website and upload it to a server. It was a video tutorial using the MS Expression Web. I would like grasp the entire concept of having a real website (or more) and move out from blogging (though continuing to blog of course). It's a new learning to me and gives me the zeal to learn it more. I hope I can and make a website, not in blog format, with various pages, out of free blog platforms! Sample tutorial/introduction to MS Web Expression, a website creation tool is shown below (I just remove it as I was not sure if it was allowed and I might endanger my adsense. I took it directly from MS site itself). However, feel free to watch the interesting video inmy sidebar (updated 07 August 2011)...There...-->>>

How to Combat Spammy Commenters Using the Blog's Comment Boxes Available Features?

preventing spam comments
Ever since I learned blogging and the beauty that goes with it, and lots of learning and modifying around, I learned also that there are parties happy to take advantage of and/or abuse your blog! This can be found in many forms such as copying your content to advertising in your post with good google page rank or better link juice. I wanted commenting easy for my readers, and to do that, I put the comment to be too easy... but leaving easy commenting also attracts a lot of unwanted comments and spammy comments. I actually disabled moderation and removed the "word verification" test for comments but it was a test and the result's not so good.

Below is the video of Monty Python defining Spam... whether you like it or not, spam's there!

What I did to prevent unwanted commenters or spammy comments
is lock the possibility of having "anonymous" or even "name + url"
commenters. I know this limits the volume of commenters but it's also a
good measure and I may now auto publish the comments without
a need of moderation and word verification.

What's spamming anyway? According to wikipedia, spam says below:

There are several popular false etymologies of the word "spam". One, promulgated by early spammers Laurence Canter and Martha Siegel, is that "spamming" is what happens when one dumps a can of Spam luncheon meat into a fan blade. Some others are the backronym stupid pointless annoying messages." There was also an effort to differentiate between types of spam. That which was sent indiscriminately to any e-mail address was true spam while that which was targeted to more likely prospects.

Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately. While the most widely recognized form of spam is e-mail spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media: instant messaging spam, Usenet newsgroup spam, Web search engine spam, spam in blogs, wiki spam, online classified ads spam, mobile phone messaging spam, Internet forum spam, junk fax transmissions, social networking spam, television advertising and file sharing network spam.
Lucky that blogger.com has the "detect spam" service but honestly, it does not detect EVERYTHING.
Spamming remains economically viable because advertisers have no operating costs beyond the management of their mailing lists, and it is difficult to hold senders accountable for their mass mailings. Because the barrier to entry is so low, spammers are numerous, and the volume of unsolicited mail has become very high. In the year 2011, the estimated figure for spam messages is around seven trillion. The costs, such as lost productivity and fraud, are borne by the public and by Internet service providers, which have been forced to add extra capacity to cope with the deluge. Spamming has been the subject of legislation in many jurisdictions.

Singer Amy Winehouse Is Dead

Amy Winehouse is dead. That is the hot headlines all over the Internet and even in TV reports. How news travels, it's really fast. Amy Winehouse is too young! She's just a year older than me, and yet, may her soul rest inpeace. Reading from CNN, "Singer Amy Winehouse was found dead at her apartment in London Saturday, the UK Press Association reported. She was 27."

Amy had severe problem with drugs as cited in most articles about her. "Winehouse's battles with substance abuse were the subject of much media attention. In various interviews, she admitted to having problems with self-harm, depression and eating disorders. In 2005, she went through a period of drinking, heavy drug use, violent mood swings and weight loss. People who saw her during the end of that year and early 2006 reported a rebound that coincided with the writing of Back to Black. Her family believes that the mid-2006 death of her grandmother, who was a stabilising influence, set her off into addiction. In August 2007, Winehouse cancelled a number of shows in the UK and Europe, citing exhaustion and ill health.".. That's according to wikipedia.

Our Generation: When Internet Allows and Gives Us the Power of Saving Lives and Helping Others During Deathly Situations

Yes, technology at its best! I just read an inspiring story of how Internet helped those victims in Mumbai deadly blasts. Some people can be admired by/with their courage and ingenuity, just like Mr. Nitin Sagar of New Delhi. He's NOT even physically in Mumbai. What Mr. Nitin Sagar did was to use Twitter in asking for voluntary help for those poor victims of the blasts, whether direct victims or those indirect victims who thought their loved ones and families and friends might have been victims. He used Twitter and of course, it became viral and his Google docs spreadsheet for those who volunteered for help, and this reached hundreds after around 30 minutes! Can you imagine? Internet, with the help of Twitter, Google and Mr. Nitin Sagar himself, helped in finding individuals who vluntarily "donate blood, provide shelter, help transport people or help in any way they could" according to CNN.

An image from theInternet on Mumbai Explosion

This is only a single story... and for sure, there are thousands more...and the power is within our reach this time, it just needs kindling a little bit from our side...our initiative and the urge.

An article in Forbes indicated Mr. Sagar as an "accidental hero" but who cares? He did hispart in helping.
Mr. Nitin Sagar???

Google to Combat Facebook with Google+ (Not "Google Plus")??? And will you be interested to join and use the service?

Google's way to challenge and to offer a social media to its users is in. I was late to include myself in trying in but it's okay, I tried to be at least in the waiting list. The name Google+ is quite strange as it is not actually Google Plus or GooglePlus but just Google+ with that "plus-sign". Is Facebook in danger? What do you think? The services Facebook and Google are actually not totally packaged the same so I think it would depend on the user to decide. I am also a facebook user but it would depend which is better the moment I start using Google+ if ever it will be released publicly. They did this same thing when they started gmail, a smaller circle and now look at gmail or now, googlemail! But also, not all Google's new products and services are successful solet's wait and see! How about you, will you be interested in joining Google+ once out???.

Easy Favicon from Blogger Draft Dashboard

Go to "http://.draft.blogger.com" or "draft.blogger.com" alone to access the favicon upload button such as what you see in the image below. There are other ways but blogger offers the easiest ways of them all once they provide the service. I have my favicon already but would like to update it as quicker and as easier as possible and would like to share the experience with you. Easy adding of .icon file is available directly through blogger in draft upload now! No need to go to the html codes to do it! Finally it's here!

Would you like to have your personal logo be in the url of your blog? I was really taken aback when I discovered that creating a favicon via blogger is now as easy as uploading an image and saving it!. Make sure your favicon is not bigger than 10 kilobytes though. And I tried editing my own favicon but it's not working! Did yours work? I tried all relevant file extension such as .ico (dot ico), .jpeg (dot jpeg) and .png (dot png) but not functioning at they should be! How did you make yours? I will repost once I discover. -> Yes I did! The tips and procedures are below:

I successfuly did it and following are the procedures and the results:
1. Go to "www.draft.blogger.com"
2. Generate the favicon for the image you like at any favicon generating site or do it alone. I did mine at http://www.iconj.com
3. Download and/or rename you favicon file
4. Upload it to blogger through the favicon button upload
5. Once successfully uploaded, the blogger favicon (the orange B) should be replaced by your own and new favicon;
6. According to Ratty in the comment below, it takes a day or two so have patience and wait for your favicon to be updated (yes, my existing favicon did not change right away, but it's okay, it's already a customized one so i don't bother, i just wait and see once updated....patience is a virtue!)
7. ENjoy your customized/personalized favicon!

1. Configuration of the favicon: no errors should be there and the favicon image should be updated (see the change fromorange B to black W?).. My apologies since my lappy is Italian....

2. It should have the replaced favicon image everytime you go to your dashboard for that blog... no more orange B's!

13 Assassins: Historical, Fierce, Cultural, Humanly Action-FIlled

Is it action film? I think yes, but not like our contemporary fun-action films. 13 Assassins made me look away from the screen so many times, especially when it was time to cut necks or any body parts. 13 Assassins is so fierce but retain the cultural aspect of the setting. 13 Assassins looks so truthful, the muddy fighting field, the warriors and samurais fighting together soaked in blood and mud and soot and dirt, the speed of the fighting... all of these are so humanly, not like the edited action or super-hero films. This film, 13 Assassins, just gets you in the heart... it was difficult to breath all through out the film!

Knowledge:
samurai [ˈsæmʊˌraɪ ˈsæmjʊ-];n pl -rai
(Historical Terms) the Japanese warrior caste that provided the administrative and fighting aristocracy from the 11th to the 19th centuries.

ronin [ˈrəʊnɪn]; n Japanese history
(Historical Terms) (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) a lordless samurai, especially one whose feudal lord had been deprived of his territory

Here is the video of the film's trailer with a little feature comment in it. The full trailer is further below (without comments/featured review).

The film's website own description of the film:

"Cult director Takeshi Miike delivers a bravado period action film set at the end of Japan's feudal era in which a group of unemployed samurai are enlisted to bring down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging the country into a war-torn future."
And the Assassins are (listed with last names first):
1. SHIMADA Shinzaemon (Kōji Yakusho) – The leader of the group. A war weary, former decorated Shogun's Samurai who is hired to carry out the mission.
2. KURANAGA Saheita (Hiroki Matsukata) – Second in command to Shinzaemon. Another veteran samurai, who volunteers his best students to join the group.
3. SHIMADA Shinrokurō (Takayuki Yamada) – Nephew to Shinzaemon. A samurai who has strayed from the ways, a gambler and a womanizer. He joins the mission to redeem himself.
4. ISHIDUKA Rihei (Kazuki Namioka) – A skilled and courageous assassin.
5. HIRAYAMA Kujūrō (Tsuyoshi Ihara) – A fierce ronin, training under Shinzaemon. A samurai of unmatched skill and prowess.
6. MITSUHASHI Gunjirō (Ikki Sawamura) – Another samurai from Kuranaga's dojo, he is instructed to buy out the Mayor of the town, and start preparations for fortifying the town.
7. ŌTAKE Mosuke (Seiji Rokkaku) – Plump-faced samurai with a jovial demeanor who provides occasional comic relief.
8. HIOKI Yasokichi (Sōsuke Takaoka) – An assassin from Kuranaga's dojo, highly skilled.
9. HIGUCHI Gennai (Yūma Ishigaki) – Horii's demolition partner, a tough and skilled samurai.
10. HORII Yahachi (Kōen Kondō) – A skilled samurai from Kuranaga's dojo, he and Higuchi are skilled in the use of explosives.
11. SAHARA Heizō (Arata Furuta) – An elder ronin, battle scarred and hardened. He favors the spear to the sword.
12. OGURA Shōujirō (Masataka Kubota (ROM-4)) – A young samurai, untested in battle but with unwavering devotion and skills to match.
13. KIGA Koyata (Yūsuke Iseya) – A hunter claiming to be of direct Samurai lineage who is found suspended in a cage in the forest as a punishment for pursuing his boss's wife. Aids the assassins in finding a route to Ochiai as well as in combating the enemy samurai.

In 13 Assassins, we see honor, courage and responsibility. It's amazing to see that death for samurai is very normal, so long as it is honorable, for them it is a beautiful thing! Or not even for samurai alone but also for other people during the Shogun era. Where else can we find this type of courage and dignity?

Here is the Trailer of 13 Assassins for non-Japanese (English) viewers:

X-Men 4 Known as "X-Men:First Class" Movie Experience

I watched the film at Pathé in The Hague Spuimarkt, Netherlands last Wednesday, the 8th of June. Yes, it's 5 days after the release but I could not complain. It was not that late. The 4th X-Men Film, which is officially named, "X-Men: First Class" is a fresh watch after the series of X-Men Films. I was able to see the first three films numerous times in 4 languages and I still like watching any of them anytime.

X-Men: FIrst Class setting is primarily somewhere in 1962 coinciding with the Cuban Missile Crisis. The film portrays the relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr known as Professor X and Magneto, respectively. In the film, it is portrayed how the respective origin of their groups was formed. Professor X has the X-Men while Erik lead the Brotherhood of Mutants. This film is freesh in terms of casts. The previous casts in other X-Men Films are in their younger versions in X-Men 4 or X-Men First Class. The film casts James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Zoë Kravitz, Nicholas Hoult and Lucas Till are some of the casts as well.

Below is the whole trailer for X-Men: First Class. You will see the clips for the main characters such as Beast, Mystique, Havok, Banshee and the rest.

Here are the involved actors in their mutant forms:
James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier / Professor X : The telepathic leader and founder of the X-Men and one of Magneto's best friends until conflicts of opinion create a rivalry between them and their teams.

Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto: The leader and founder of the Brotherhood of Mutants and one of Professor X's best friends until conflicts of opinion create a rivalry between them and their teams.

Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw: A scientist and the leader of the Hellfire Club, a secret society bent on taking over the world. Shaw is also a mutant who can absorb kinetic and radiated energy and redirect it.

Jennifer Lawrence as Raven / Mystique: A shape-shifting mutant and Charles Xavier's childhood friend and considered adopted sister until she chose to be in Magneto's side.

January Jones as Emma Frost / White Queen: A telepath who can also change her body into diamond form and she is also a member of the Hellfire Club.

Rose Byrne as Dr. Moira MacTaggert: A CIA agent and love interest of Charles Xavier.

Nicholas Hoult as Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast: A former scientist and political activist who transformed into a frightening looking mutant in an attempt to cure himself, but is kind at heart.

Zoë Kravitz as Angel Salvadore: A mutant with housefly wings and acidic saliva.

Caleb Landry Jones as Sean Cassidy / Banshee: A mutant capable of ultrasonic screaming used in various ways including as a means of flight.

Lucas Till as Alex Summers / Havok: A mutant who has the ability to absorb energy and discharge it as blasts.

Edi Gathegi as Armando Muñoz / Darwin: A mutant with the power of "reactive evolution."

Jason Flemyng as Azazel: A Hellfire Club member who teleports.

Álex González as Janos Quested / Riptide: A mutant with the ability to create powerful whirlwinds from his hands.

X-Men: First class has Usd 55 Million gross income in its first week. Not bad at all! Not bad!
If I have to watch the film as it is, there is little flaw but if I have to connect it with other X-Men films, I would have problem. In X-Men 3, Professor X was still walking with Magneto when they took the young Jean Grey but here, in X-Men 4, Prof. X lost his les/could not walk at an early age.

I was also disappointed at the place where we watched thefilm. Pathé in The Hague Spuimarkt, theater number 9 is not the best of the auditoriums/theaters they have. The screen was like moving and the sound was horrible! But then, we cannot have all we want, the next time I will surely complain. In fairness, 3 days after I watched other films in Pathé in The Hague Spuimarkt salle number 2 and 5 and they're much better in audio and visual quality.

Adsense Account Even More Valuable! Don't Let It Get Disabled...

google adsense situationIt's almost 5 years that yours truly is blogging. I found out lately that having a Google Adsense is not as simple anymore as how is used to be. What does it mean? Bloggers may be reduced due to lesser motivation and for the existing Google Adsense publishers, it means that they have to be very careful in maintaining their accounts and take good care of it to be not disabled. When I was just starting, any new blogger who wishes to publish and gain from Google Adsense could do so automatically (at least that's how I know being situated in Western Europe).

What does it mean, in general to the following parties? It means differently for Google than to remaining publishers and also disappointing to those who would like to be a publisher.

Generally, I can think, by controlling, limiting, and checking Google Adsense publishers, Google Adsense:

a. improved the quality of theìr ad publishing: Whether we admit it or not, long-existent and proven publishers mean that they are more compliant with Google Adsense ad policies. They are also the ones who don't do stupid stuff to gain a few cents but endanger their accounts (there are publishers clicking their own ads for that and get their account blocked/disabled);

b. gained more customer: as the consequence of the above, people and companies using Google Adwords are even more confident that their advertisements are in good hands;

c. discouraged online traffic: When I was starting to blog, I did not know what was Google Adsense. It was however the topic of the blogosphere and it seemed that everyone was just crazy for it. I have to admit, they had the reason to and that made me one of the publishers as well. Everyone was like into blogging wishing to earn through Google Adsense. Now, that it is not as simple as it used to be in becoming a member or an approved Google Adsense Publisher, I don't think bloggers are as motivated as before. Thus, web traffic will e reduced. Those who roam around the www are usually those who have websites or blogs.

d. improved the blogging/online community: By not encouraging crappy blogs, the online community would be a better place. Whether we admit it or not, tons of bloggers just copy and paste and this is very annoying. It's onay from time to time and with citations/acknowledgment but othes do it for all their blog entries.

For Newbie Bloggers:

a. dicouragement if they get rejected: Once a new blogger gets rejected, they would stop blogging. This is not good things for the www traffic.

b. more motivation: On the other hand, very good quality blogs will have no problem getting accepted being a Google Adsense publisher.

c. get more challenge, make them do a higher quality site/blog: This is the best part. I salute those newly-accepted in Google Adsense. This means that you are a good publisher.

For existing Publishers:

a. we have to be really careful: we don't want our accounts blocked or disabled.

b. we have to maintain the good quality of our blogs, check and recheck if we still adhere to Google Adsense rules: This is a scary thing but it's for our own good if we remain as publishers. Yes, it's maybe a couple of hundred bucks a year earning but being an extra earning, that amount does not hurt at all! Right? So much more for those who earn in thousands (like in the image below).

c. We are a reduced supply, more chance to earn more: Simple rule of supply and demand, if we are few, Adword Publishers would have to bid higher to have us publish their ads... that would be a good sign for us publishers (and of course to Google first!).

Happy Blogging!
If nothing else works, there are always competitor Ad networks we bloggers can join in.

Thankful to the Internet and the World Wide Web

Being the network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking technologies, Internet helped me a lot in my day-to-day activities. I was thinking what to post today and I realize how much dependent am I with the Internet. I purchase and shop through the Internet, I found my job through the Internet, I buy my film subscriptions online, I learn the weather online, study online and communicate with family and friends online, among others. Honestl, although I canlive without, I find it difficult to live without the Internet. All I can say is, I am thankful that during my generation, Internet is an available convenient and affordable service ready to be used!

Viva Internet! Long live and continue serving the humanity! How about you? What can you say about the Internet?

iGoogle: It is such a lovely, powerful ,desirable itool

iGoogle, the personal web portal offered, naturally, by Google just made my day. I am a very satisfied user of this feature offered by Google. Everything I need is in ONE page: my iGoogle page. Are you an iGoogle user too?

First, what is iGoogle? It is actually a feature in Google that is there for years already. It was called the "Google Personalized Homepage" (since creation in 2005) and it was also called"Google IG" but currently, the name, iGoogle (since 2007) sounds more chic. What do you think? All the same, whatever the name would have been,I do love the service offered. iGoogle is user's startpage, it is Ajax-based. Similar services such as this are My Yahoo! and Pageflakes or Netvibes.

So what's with iGoogle? As of 2005 (May), this Google service offers the possibility to add web feeds and Google Gadgets in their iGoogles. 20% of Google visits originate from iGoogle in April 2008... I think at least 10 million people use this service. Are you one of us?

This is my iGoogle. I have all the gadgets that help me with my language learnings, at least a word a day for German, French and Italian. Isn't that cool that I only need to visit a single page to see all these? I have also feeds from CNN, How To of the Day, weather forecast for the my city and time. This is my personalized page, the theme are varied according to your taste and choice.

Here is my iGoogle and why:
This is the first column of my iGoogle. It has the German word of the day with thenominative article (die, der, das) to learn the gender of the word as I learn them. Very useful!
This column also contains the gadget for Italian Ver of the Day. I need them for my continued learning.
Then comes the CNN feed. Well, who doesnot want to learn thebiggest/ latest world news of the day?

For my mid-column of my iGoogle page, I have two different French Word of the Day gadgets. Both of them has sound/pronunciation guide and that is really great. Widening one's vocabulary is never bad!
I have also the Weather Forecast for my city at the bottom.

Nochmal habe ich mein "German Word of the Day" gadget. The thing I don't like about this gadget is that it doesnot have thenominative definite article before the word. Ilike the fact that it has the audio and text for sentence and phrase usage once I expand the gadget.
I have also the Youtube "Best Video", "Most Popular Video" and "Video of the Day" option.
Then I have the clock and the calendar.

WHat do you say about mypage? What's yours?

"Mothers Day" or "Mother's Day" or "Mothers' Day"? Where is the Apostrophe?

mother's day apostrophe and video collectionA trivia I got fron Wikipedia: Mothers' Day, Mothers Day or Mother's Day? Where the apostrophe should be? Or is there an apostrophe at all? Below, it is answered by Wikipedia:
In 1912, Anna Jarvis trademarked the phrases "second Sunday in May" and "Mother's Day", and created the Mother's Day International Association."She was specific about the location of the apostrophe; it was to be a singular possessive, for each family to honour their mother, not a plural possessive commemorating all mothers in the world."This is also the spelling used by U.S. President Woodrow Wilson in the law making official the holiday in the U.S., by the U.S. Congress on bills, and by other U.S. presidents on their declarations.Common usage in English language also dictates that the ostensibly singular possessive "Mother's Day" is the preferred spelling
. Below is a collection of fun Mother's Day videos from Youtube... Have fun watching, mothers and the rest of the world...

Greetings from the cat....

NavBar I Hid and Favicon I Created... Finally!

Finally! It has been my dream to create a favicon to each of my blogs but I never had time to make it happen. I know it's simple but I need time to read the instructions and create the favicon. These days, I have to admit that it's simpler than how it was before. What I just did is just generate my favicon link and voila, now I got my favicon on most of my Webbielady blogs. It's just a simple letter "W" actually but I am happy to have it. Now the "B" of Blogger is gone in my url!

Are you interested to have your own favicon as well? This is the tutorial I followed and it is obviously effective since I have my favicon now. Please take note that I didnot follow his advise for the favicon generator though. Instead, I used this site to host my favicon image AND to generate my favicon url. In a single upload, without a need to register, I had my favicon, simple and fast!

So what's favicon? Favicon, a term used as a short for favorites icon. Favicon is also known for different other terms such as shortcut icon, website icon, URL icon, or bookmark icon. Favicon  is a file containing one or more small icons associated with a particular blog, webpage or a website  A blog owner, webpage creator or a web designer may create such an icon and install it into a blog, website or webpage. For most of Webbielady's blogs, it's that red letter "W" that you can see before the urlor before the blog name/title in the tabs.
6 different navbar colors offered by Blogger. For those who use blogger designs (not other
online templates edited by 3rd parties), usually the navbar appears when a site is opened.
Now my navbar is also gone. Hiding the navbar is quite straightforward. I just followed this instruction and my navbar is now gone. Why did Ihide the navbar? I just feelmore comfortable without it.
Below are twoof my blogs:
1st blog image: with favicon and without navbar. With this blog, I feel it's more personal and I have more control. I was able to put what I wanted and hide what I do not want.
2nd blog image: unedited blog, with navbar and without favicon

Google Cover Art and Happy Earth Day Everyone!

Google and nature. In fact, I should make it a habit to click the featured image of Google each day. They are actually always informative and very interesting. Today, I was attracted to the graphics and clicked it.... and voila! It's earth day. I was soon in the earth day org network reading around and watching videos. What have I harvested? Pledges, promotions, and everything about taking care of earth.

If we open our eyes, and be smart enough, technology has also a lot to offer to us about awareness in taking care of the earth. I mean, I am not one of those who wrote their pledges but I am one who has been enlightened by information, through technology and mass media, on how possibly I can share in improving the degradation of this planet.

I was born in a country were very few, if any, cared for the earth. Natural disasters may come, annual and repeated floods may destroy, mudslides may occur and kill, yet people do not learn. Still everyone throws everything in the rivers, in the seas, in their front or back yard... Dynamite fishing is rampant and mountain clearing through burning is always present while peopleburn their garbages if they are not throwing them, chemical and plastics included. It's sad to think.... Yes, awareness is very important but aside fromawareness, putting this awareness into action is even MORE important. I just hope changes for the better will happen. Happy Earth Day Everyone!

I found this video from the earthday network. Honestly, this styledoes not appeal to mepersonally. It's like they have said everything but they said nothing..... just like consumerism in this earth...we buy and buy and buy... and what we do? Throw them so soon... it's not my intention to be mean but this was the first thing that came tomy mind after seeing this video. Iknow the intention of the network is good but maybe a better campaign can be produced.... just a thought...

Google's Front Page image today.... Just Lovely!

Box Office: "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules", Sucker Punch, Limitless, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Rango

It's fun to know what are the hottest films again. Rango has gained a lot but it has stepped down a bit after afew weeks. Lately, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules" ranked among the top gainers together with Sucker Punch, Limitless, The Lincoln Lawyer and again, and still, Rango.

Below is the collection of trailers and respective synopsis of these cool giant-gainers in terms of gross revenues in all theaters worldwide.

From time to time, I post here some news on box office hits when they interest me. I have noticed that these days, films like Gnomeo and Juliet and Rango, both animations are having good marks and garnered the tastes of the watching public.

Part of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules" film.  It was so funny! I would really like to view this film!

Gregory Heffley receives a diary from his mother, which he refers to as a "journal" and in it records the course of his first year of middle school.
The book begins with an introduction where Greg explains "The Cheese Touch." It is very similar to the Cooties. Greg writes that a student named Darren Walsh touched "the Cheese" (an old, moldy piece of cheese on the schoolyard) with his finger, and is "contaminated" by it, thus creating the Cheese Touch. The Cheese Touch is then passed around the school, and eventually ends up with a student named Abe Hall (Dieter Muller in the movie), who moves back to California, taking the Cheese Touch with him.

Trailer for Sucker Punch:

First, what's a sucker punch? A sucker punch is a blow made without warning, allowing no time for preparation or defense on the part of the recipient. It is usually delivered from close range or from behind. A sucker punch thrown outside of the rules of boxing is illegal. For example, when James Butler knocked Richard Grant unconscious after losing a fight to him on points, his license was suspended.

Following is the synopsis from iMdB: A young girl (Baby Doll) is locked away in a mental asylum by her abusive stepfather where she will undergo a lobotomy in five days time. Faced with unimaginable odds, she retreats to a fantastical world in her imagination where she and four other female inmates at the asylum, plot to escape the facility. The lines between reality and fantasy blur as Baby Doll and her four companions, as well as a mysterious guide, fight to retrieve the five items they need that will allow them to break free from their captors before it's too late.
