Singer Amy Winehouse Is Dead

Amy Winehouse is dead. That is the hot headlines all over the Internet and even in TV reports. How news travels, it's really fast. Amy Winehouse is too young! She's just a year older than me, and yet, may her soul rest inpeace. Reading from CNN, "Singer Amy Winehouse was found dead at her apartment in London Saturday, the UK Press Association reported. She was 27."

Amy had severe problem with drugs as cited in most articles about her. "Winehouse's battles with substance abuse were the subject of much media attention. In various interviews, she admitted to having problems with self-harm, depression and eating disorders. In 2005, she went through a period of drinking, heavy drug use, violent mood swings and weight loss. People who saw her during the end of that year and early 2006 reported a rebound that coincided with the writing of Back to Black. Her family believes that the mid-2006 death of her grandmother, who was a stabilising influence, set her off into addiction. In August 2007, Winehouse cancelled a number of shows in the UK and Europe, citing exhaustion and ill health.".. That's according to wikipedia.

  2. its a sad story, she was a talented singer...I really like her song "Rehab"...but as she sings in there she did not want to go there....

    last thing i read a few weeks ago is that she had a concert in Belgrad, Serbia, and she was compeltely "high" on scene and all fans were unhappy...

    price celebrities pay is always high...poor things;

  4. @ Kilauea Poetry, i actually saw alotof comments telling "no one tried to help her" or somethinglike that... must have been difficult!

    @Jana, I saw the video too, she fell down on stage, and read that she could not even sing anymore, staggering with the songs... and the ticket price was not cheap at all, adding to the disappointments.

    @Nova, I hope shemay rest in peace...

  6. My daughter was a big fan of Amy's. I had heard of her but hadn't heard her music so thanks for the videos. Goodness....what a sad loss! She really had talent!!! Prayers to the family.:(
    BTW...Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix were also 27 when they died. They were major losses of my generation's musical icons.

  12. I hadn't realized her Grandma was the stabilising influence before she'd passed.
    I can imagine the pressure she must of been under. She was unique..

  13. @Lina,
    That's true, but people are telling somebody should have helped her.

    @SK, I could not believe either, always saw her in the news with her drunk mood and headlines..

    @Regina,
    Indeed, that must have been so difficult for her. She was already a bit problematic before that.
